ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) of Islamabad on Thursday extended the physical remand of Ume Hassan, spouse of former Lal Masjid cleric, and other accused for an additional three days in a case involving alleged interference in government affairs and firing on government employees.

ATC Judge Abaul Hasanat Mohammad Zulqarnain presided over the hearing, during which the accused were presented in court after completing their previous three-day remand.

The prosecution requested a 10-day extension, citing the need for further investigation, recovery of evidence, and the arrest of additional suspects.

After hearing arguments from both sides, the court partially accepted the prosecution’s plea and extended the remand by four days. The accused have been ordered to appear before the court again on March 3.
