Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has said a permanent ceasefire and an inclusive political process towards a two-state solution are the only viable framework for durable peace between Israel and the Palestinians.

While speaking in a session of the United Nations Security Council, the foreign minister said, “We hope that all stages of the agreement will be fully implemented leading to a permanent ceasefire and an inclusive political process towards a two-state solution.

“This remains the only viable framework for durable peace between Israel and the Palestinians and the Arab and Muslim world,” he said.

“We also look forward to the earliest reconstruction of Gaza,” he said, adding that Pakistan opposed any displacement of the Palestinian people from their homeland.
