KARACHI: Pakistan Television (PTV) secured their fourth victory in the President’s Trophy Grade-I, defeating Higher Educa­tion Commission (HEC) by an innings and 94 runs on the third day of the seventh round here at the KCCA Stadium on Friday.

HEC, resuming from their overnight score of 42-1, were bowled out for 152 in 35.2 overs. Ali Ham­za Wasim top-scored with 57-ball 50, hitting eight fours and one six.

PTV’s Ali Usman took four wickets for 32 runs, while Mohammad Mohsin claimed 3-29 in five overs. Muhammad Shahzad picked up two wickets.

Test batsman Abdullah Shafique, playing for Eshaal Associates, scored 107 off 253, against Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) at the NBP Sports Complex. It was Abdullah’s 10th first-class century.

Despite Abdullah’s solid knock, Eshaal Associates were bowled out for 270, with Wapda’s Aqib Khan taking 5-82 in 26 overs. Wapda finished day three at 200-7, with skipper Khalid Usman unbeaten on 66.

At the State Bank Stadi­um, Ghani Glass resu­med their first innings from 272-5 and posted 435 all out in 117 overs.

Ali Razzaq scored his maiden first-class century, contributing 162 runs off 254 balls with 20 fours and two sixes.

Ghani Glass gained a 165-run lead, with SNGPL’s Mohammad Waleed taking four wickets and Rahat Ali claiming three. SNGPL were 154-4 in 44 overs at stumps.

Khan Research Labor­atories (KRL) require 90 more runs to win with seven wickets in hand after finishing day three at 140-3 in 43 overs against Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) at the UBL Sports Complex.

OGDCL were bowled out for 165, with KRL’s Shahid Aziz completing his maiden first-class ten-wicket match haul, taking 6-57 and 4-63 Arshad­ullah aided him with three wickets.
