PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi on Wednesday emphasised that education was the only path to development, prosperity, peace and the creation of a civilised society.
He said that in today’s technological age, the significance of education had become even greater, and it was crucial to focus more on the education sector, especially in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He stressed the need to look beyond traditional education to tackle the emerging challenges, saying that without an ideal educational environment, even children with innate abilities would struggle to succeed.
Mr Kundi stated this while addressing an educational conference and best teacher and student awards ceremony organised by All Pakistan Private Schools Management Association (APPSMA), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter, at the Nishter Hall.
The governor distributed awards to around 40 teachers and as many students for their exceptional performance in the field of education.
APPSMA president Dr Mohammad Zakir Shah welcomed the governor and other dignitaries, and highlighted the objectives of the educational conference.
Governor Kundi congratulated the award recipients and praised the APPSMA for organising such events to encourage and motivate teachers and students.
He acknowledged the outstanding performance of students and teachers despite the ‘lack’ of a robust education-friendly government policy in the province.
He pointed out that many schools in the province still lacked basic facilities, with little attention given to students’ uniforms or updating the curriculum according to contemporary demands.
