The forest guardian

This is regarding the story “The forest guardian” by Fatimah Khurram (YW, November 23). The narrative highlighted the importance of trees for our survival and the entire planet. Our utmost duty is to safeguard this invaluable resource as much as possible.

For instance, when visiting gardens or parks, one must ensure to properly dispose waste and avoid causing any harm to the trees and plants, only then we will be able to preserve our natural resources.

Beyond the setbacks

This is with reference to the story “Beyond the setback” by Alisha Adnan (YW, December 14). We all know that failures make us who we are — they either make us strong or break us, and this was brilliantly captured in this story.

There have been times when I believed that things would fall into place without much effort, only to be confronted with the harsh reality of failure.

The article highlighted how setbacks can serve as valuable lessons, and emphasised that failure is not the end, but a chance to grow and improve.

The magical moments of winter

This is regarding the article “The magical moments of winter”by Nawa Khan (YW, December 14).

The article beautifully captured the essence of the winter season, echoing my fondness for the cosiness that comes with the chilly months. The imagery of warm sweaters, comforting mugs of hot chocolate and hearty soups brings a sense of nostalgia and joy.

I liked the way the writer portrayed the seasonal changes not just as weather shifts, but as invitations to slow down, reflect and cherish simple moments with our loved ones.

Tips to unlocking parental approval

Instead of advising readers to avoid playing video games or wasting their time on such activities, Faiyaz Ali Ghori cleverly reframed the idea by highlighting the benefits of gaming in his article “Tips to unlocking parental approval” (YW, December 21, 2024)

The article also emphasised the importance of balancing gaming with other activities.

While video games can be a source of both fun and learning, parents are more likely to appreciate seeing their children stay active through sports or outdoor pursuits.

Striking this balance provides a complete approach to maintaining a healthy lifestyle alongside gaming.
