Sonic the Hedgehog 3 speeds into cinemas, delivering twice the trouble, twice the speed, and much more chaos! If you loved the first two films starring the Blue Devil, you won’t want to miss this one — head to your nearest cinema now.

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 marks the latest chapter in the hit live-action/animated franchise inspired by the beloved video game icon. The 110-minute movie takes everything fans loved about the first two films and cranks it up.

If you expect just one hedgehog racing to stop Dr Robotnik (Jim Carrey’s iconic performance), think again — this time, the action is doubled with new characters and surprises. The movie also features another version of Jim Carrey, delivering both laughs and a more sombre tone as it explores the theme of losing a loved one. Ben Schwartz, Colleen O’Shaughnessey, and Idris Elba return as Sonic, Tails and Knuckles, while the biggest surprise comes from Shadow — voiced by Keanu Reeves.

This time, Team Sonic and their adoptive parents, Tom (James Marsden) and Maddie (Tika Sumpter) are recruited by Guardian Units of Nations (G.U.N.) to face Shadow — the formidable and mysterious new foe with unprecedented powers.

The movie is again directed by Jeff Fowler, who also brought us the first two films of the world’s fastest Hedgehog. Stunning visuals, thrilling chase sequences and vibrant settings bring the iconic Sonic universe to life on the big screen. It’s packed with high-energy action, heart and humour, making it an absolute blast for the franchise’s kids and long-time fans.

The movie also evokes a sense of nostalgia — think 1994, when blockbusters like Speed and The Mask dominated the summer. Here, Jim Carrey takes on dual roles, while Keanu Reeves steps into the spotlight as the enigmatic Shadow. Though Tom and Maddie have less screen time this time around, the film’s focus on Sonic and Shadow more than makes up for it.

The movie masterfully balances the fun, fast-paced action with heart-warming moments between Sonic and his pals. Jim Carrey’s ‘Eggmen’ is still a highlight, delivering his usual over-the-top antics. It also teases Sonic the Hedgehog 4, leaving fans eagerly anticipating its release in two years.
