ISLAMABAD: Even as the government moves to extradite property tycoon Malik Riaz — one of the co-accused in the Al-Qadir Trust case that saw the PTI founder being sentenced to 14 years earlier this month — Imran Khan on Thursday urged the Bahria Town owner to reveal the names of all those “judges, generals and politicians” who received monetary benefits from him over the past 30 years.

A statement posted on the X (formerly Twitter) account of the former prime minister came two days after the National Accountability Bureau announced it would extradite Malik Riaz from the United Arab Emirates, and warned people against investing in his recently launched housing project in Dubai.

Riaz, an absconder in the £190 million case, had responded to the NAB announcement on X, threatening to share “secrets of the 25/30 years [which] are safe with evidence”.

“I am resisting, but I am sitting with a storm in my heart. If this breaks, then everyone’s illusion will be put into reality,” the tycoon added.

“Malik Riaz had said that it would be embarrassing for a number of people if he opened his mouth… Nation should know who were involved in that mess and now have been criticising me over the Al-Qadir Trust case,” said the statement, quoting Mr Khan’s remarks to his lawyers in Adiala jail.

The PTI leader’s social media account is quite active, but he has never disclosed who posts on his behalf since he does not have access to it while being incarcerated.

In his latest tweet, Mr Khan once again asked overseas Pakistanis not to send remittances home, alleging that it would be akin to killing people, as the government was involved in “massacres”.

Mr Khan has appealed to overseas Pakistanis multiple times to stop sending remittances, but according to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, inflows have only increased in this time.
