LAHORE: The district administration has launched an operation to recover stolen public property.

Conducted jointly by Ravi Zone Assistant Commissioner Shabbir Tariq and Shalimar’s Dr Anum Fatima, it resulted in the recovery of a significant number of stolen manhole lids.

“During the operation, a substantial number of manhole covers were retrieved from the Waheed and Company warehouse located in the Bhama Jhuggian area,” an official said.

Acting swiftly, the ACs confiscated the lids and sealed the warehouse.

A case was registered against the warehouse owners while its manager was apprehended from the spot.

Lahore DC Musa Raza emphasised the importance of this operation in maintaining public safety and infrastructure integrity.

“The theft of manhole covers is a grave issue that endangers public safety and disrupts city’s infrastructure. The district administration is resolute in its efforts to eradicate this menace,” he said.

He appealed to the citizens to immediately report any incident of manhole lid theft to the DC Office.
