ISLAMABAD: Culprits looted cash and valuables worth over six millions rupees from eight places, including three houses and a shop, in the capital, police said on Monday.

Moreover, a battery was stolen from a car parked alongside the heavily-guarded Chief Commissioner Complex.

In the first incident, a gang of robbers looted a house located in the limits of Humak police station, the police said. Three persons armed with weapons raided the house of Mohammad Zulfikar Khan at Model Town and held the residents, including women, at gunpoint.

They ransacked the house and looted cash and gold ornaments worth Rs1.2 million and escaped.

Similarly, robbers looted another house located in the area of Sumbal police station. The police said four armed men entered the house of Mazhar Siddiq at Mera Aku when the residents were asleep.

The gunmen detained the inmates in a room and also beat up Mr Siddiq. They looted Rs100,000 cash, and valuables worth Rs300,000.

Three gunmen entered the house of Mohammad Waris at G-10/3, in the area of Ramna police station, and looted cash Rs8,000 and householdarticles and escaped.

In another incident, two persons armed with weapons looted a medical store in Shalimar, the police said, adding that the robbers raided the store owned by Safdar Abbas at E-11 and held up the shopkeepers at gunpoint and looted Rs170,000.

Furthermore, two gunmen snatched six mobile phones from different persons at G-9/4 in the limits of Karachi Company police station.

Besides, a gang of two robbers looted cash, and valuables from Syed Danial Kazmi and his friends in the area of Shalimar police station.

Meanwhile, thieves stole gold ornaments worth Rs3 million from a house at Shahzad Town police station. The thieves broke into the house of Sher Khan at Farash Road when the residents were away and stole 13 tola gold ornaments.

Moreover, thieves also stole a battery from a vehicle parked along the wall of the Chief Commissioner Complex, housing the office of Chief Commissioner at G-11/4.
