CHARSADDA: Expressing concern over the deteriorating law and order situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Qaumi Watan Party provincial chairman Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao has claimed that there is no sign of government’s writ in the southern districts.

He said this while addressing a party joining ceremony in Hisara Nehri union council of Tangi tehsil on Friday.

On this occasion, PTI workers, including Inayat-ur-Rehman, Yousuf Khan, Omarzada, Faqir Mohammad, Qari Shoaib, Sahar Gul Mama, Hashmali Mama, Ehsanullah, Salman, Sher Bahadur, Mohabbat Shah, Yasin, Mursalin, Imad Kan and Ikram Khan announced joining QWP.

Sikandar Sherpao said due to lack of interest on part of those at the helm, the situation in the southern districts was deteriorating. He said incidents of militancy had become a routine there.

Describing the killing of three police personnel and kidnapping of 17 employees of Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission in Lakki Marwat district on Thursday as matter of deep concern, he demanded early recovery of the kidnapped employees. He also demanded investigation into the occurrence.

He insisted that due to wrong policies of the federal and provincial governments, militants and criminals were calling the shots.

Mr Sikandar said the government and the opposition should join hands to formulate a joint strategy to restore peace and solve basic problems of people. He said protection of the life and property of the citizens was the prime responsibility of the federal and provincial governments.

He said that QWP’s mission was to raise voice for the rights of Pakhtuns.
