PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police chief Akhtar Hayat Khan has said that facilitating citizens at their doorsteps is top priority of the provincial police.

Mr Khan, after inaugurating police facilitation centre in Nowshera district on Thursday, said that the facility would reduce the gap between public and police, said an official statement issued by the central police office.

The statement said that the newly-inaugurated centre was equipped with modern facilities and would provide various facilities to the Nowshera residents under one roof.

Regional police officer Mardan Najibur Rehman, district police officer Mohammad Azhar Khan and other police officers attended the ceremony.

The DPO Nowshera briefed the provincial police chief on administrative matters and different sections of the facilitation centre.

The centre, according to the official statement, would facilitate people in obtaining character certificate (domestic and foreign), police clearance certificate, tenancy agreement form and collect reports regarding lost documents.

It would also include a foreigner desk, the statement said.
