TAXILA: A man has allegedly gunned down his father in Nawababad area in Wah Saddar police area on Tuesday over inheritance dispute.

Police, while quoting the family of the victim, said that Zahid Rasheed wanted to usurp his father’s property. On Tuesday, both exchanged hot words over the issue in their house located near gate 5 and out of rage, Zahid took out his pistol and shot his father Abdul Rasheed dead.

Police handed over the body to the family for burial after autopsy at Tehsil Headquarters Hospital after registration of a murder case against the suspect. Raids are being conducted to arrest the suspect, police spokesman said.

Separately, two persons were deprived of cash and valuables in the limits of Taxila and Wah police aras on Tuesday, police sources said.

In the first incident, two masked men equipped with different weapons intercepted Noman Waheed near rest area in Hakla on Islamabad-Peshawar motorway (M-1) and at gunpoint deprived him of cash and valuables.

In the second incident, two armed robbers came on a motorcycle and intercepted Fakhar Abbas in Faisal town area and at gunpoint looted him of cash and valuables and fled with the looted items.

Respective Police have registered two separate cases and launched further investigation.
