TAXILA: Police on Saturday arrested a suspect for abduction and raping an intermediate class student of local girls’ college in the limits of Hassanabdal police station.

Hatim Khan, a native Choa Ghareeb Shah, reported to police that his teenage daughter who is a student of grade 12 at a local college went out of the house to purchase books on Oct 26.

A man riding a Suzuki van later identified as Mohammad Afzal along with four persons bundled her in the vehicle and shifted her to an unknown location near Hazro where he rape her.

On Friday, the girl managed to escape and return to her house and narrated her ordeal. Police shifted the girl to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital and after the rape was confirmed, arrested the nominated accused.
