LAHORE: Karachi and Lahore booked their spots in the semi-finals of the National Women’s Basketball Championship, joining Wapda and Army, after registering contrasting wins here at the Wapda Sports Complex on Saturday.

In a nail-biting first match of the day, Karachi recorded a narrow 23-19 win over Faisalabad as Dina Qazvi’s seven points proved to be the decisive factor.

Meanwhile, Lahore routed Hazara with a dominant 54-4 scoreline to seal their last-four spot. Aima Khan and Khadija Mushtaq led the charge for Lahore, scoring 19 and eight points, respectively.

Maintaining their winning streak, defending champions Wapda thrashed Bahawalpur 84-19 to clinch the top spot in pool ‘A’. Kainat Zafar (13) and Sahrish Nawaz (12) were the stars of the show.

The semi-finals will be held on Sunday, with Wapda facing Lahore and Army taking on Karachi. The final is slated for Monday.
