CHINIOT: A girl was allegedly killed by her brothers and relatives for leaving her home with a man of her choice at village Tahli Rang Shah of tehsil Bhowana.

Nazia Bibi, daughter of Ali Hussain, belonging to Syed caste, had left home with a local man, identified as Fazal, son of Gulzar Mochi, some days ago. The parents and family searched for her and finally succeeded in convincing her to return home.

When she was back, her brothers, Muqarrab, Hassain Ali, and relatives Nazar Hussain, Mahar Ali and Hyder Ali Shah, strangled her and secretly buried her body in a local graveyard without funeral prayers.

However, an informer told Bhowana police about the incident. At this, ASI Shafqat Abbas registered a first information report against nominated suspects and launched investigations. Hearing the registration of the FIR, all the nominated suspects went into hiding.

PFA: The Punjab Food Authority teams, under supervision of Deputy Director Qasim Raza, inspected various milk containers, shops and stores in Chiniot city and disposed of 1,000 litres of fake milk, 105kg Khoya after checking 44 milk carrying vehicles in which 51,000 litre milk was inspected.

A khoya processing shop was also sealed over poor hygiene and abundance of insects. A chicken sale shop was also sealed and an eatery was fined for using banned ingredients in meals.

A total of Rs132,000 fine was imposed on the violators.
