QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has said the province is facing four problems of terrorism, corruption, climate change and governance.

Speaking at the foundation-stone laying ceremony of Phase-II of the academic block of Civil Services Academy on Wednesday, he said efforts are under way to resolve these issues through dialogue and implementing essential reforms in public departments to ensure merit and transparency, which will ultimately reduce public grievances.

He underlined the importance of effective service delivery through competent and qualified officers.

Mr Bugti assured the academy of the provincial government’s full support and directed that the new academic block be completed within eight months.

Highlighting the government’s efforts to empower the youth, Mr Bugti said scholarships have been announced for students, besides allocation of Rs2 billion under the Akhuwat Programme to help young people start their own businesses.

He said the government’s priority is to address all challenges, including corruption, governance, climate change and terrorism, with a strategic and transparent approach to ensure progress and prosperity of Balochistan.
