Clarification

KARACHI, April 14: Referring to a report headlined ‘Passengers in Gilgit, Skardu stranded’ which appeared in Dawn’s Friday issue, PIA has issued the following clarification:

“Flights to Gilgit/Skardu are scheduled to operate daily subject to weather conditions. No cancellation of any flight was planned unnecessarily and flights did operate after awaiting improvement in weather with delays to some extent and after restrictions such as sunset limitations.

“The airline is doing its best to follow flight schedule but under no circumstances can the airline take any chances of endangering the lives of passengers by flying the aircraft in prohibitive weather conditions.”
