CHARSADDA: Two persons were killed and six others got injuries over a property dispute in Gandheri Chowk of Tangi tehsil here on Friday.

Khaista Badshah, a resident of Gandheri area, reported to the Tangi police that he was returning home from Gandheri Bazaar along with his son, Nazar Bacha and other relatives. He said accused Sartaj, Jafar, Gul Akbar and Mohammad Akbar of Gandheri, who were standing on the roof of a shop, opened indiscriminate fire at them, killing Nazar and a relative, Arif alias Jawad Arif on the spot. He added that the firing also left six persons injured, including his relatives, Kamil, Mir Afzal and Faizur Rahman, and three passersby, including two children, Munibullah and Kalimullah, and a woman, Jamila.

The injured were shifted to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, Tangi. They were later shifted to a Peshawar hospital in precarious condition. The police said the reason behind the firing was stated to be a dispute over a house.

The Tangi police registered a double murder case against the accused on the complaint of Khaista Badshah and started investigation.

Meanwhile, a suspect was killed during an exchange of fire with the police on the Service Road here on Friday.

Prang police station SHO Behrmand said a police party was on a routine patrol on the Service Road when it signalled a suspect to stop, but he opened fire on the cops.

He said the cops also returned fire in self-defence, and as a result, the suspect was killed. He said a 9mm pistol was recovered from the suspect. The suspect was identified as Israruddin of Umarzai.
