GUJRAT: Immigration officials of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) denied entry to Afghan national Muhammad Khan Akhtargul at Sialkot airport on Friday.

The passenger arrived from Kuwait and presented an e-visa. Upon inspection, it was discovered that the visa type, designated for medical purposes, was only valid for entry via the Torkham border.

In a separate development, FIA arrested alleged human trafficker Hamid Ali in Rasoolpura, Sialkot. According to an FIA spokesman, Ali had taken Rs1.4 million from a citizen, promising to send his son to France on a work visa, but failed to fulfil the commitment. A case was registered against him in the FIA Gujranwala circle.

ACCIDENT: Three people were killed and 13 others injured in separate accidents on Friday.

In the first incident, 22-year-old Abdullah Ashraf was killed when a bus belonging to the University of Gujrat hit his motorcycle on the wrong side of the old GT Road near the industrial estate. He succumbed to head injuries on the spot. Rescue 1122 shifted the body to Aziz Bhatti Shaheed Teaching Hospital (ABSTH).

In another accident, 13 passengers were injured when a bus overturned near Panjan Kasana village of Kharian due to a tyre burst. The bus hit the central median before overturning. Rescue officials provided first aid to four passengers, while the remaining were transported to nearby hospitals.

In the third incident, a 25-year-old man, Ali from Dogra village in Sheikhupura, fell from a moving train near Gujrat railway station and died instantly. He was travelling towards Rawalpindi when the incident occurred near a railway crossing on Sargodha Road. Rescue officials shifted his body to ABSTH.
