QUETTA: Two security personnel were injured in an armed attack by unknown assailants at the gate of a security forces’ camp in Noshki on Monday.

According to officials, the attackers opened fire at the camp near a bus terminal, injuring two personnel.

In response, the security forces immediately returned fire. The injured security personnel were taken to the hospital, while the attackers fled after a prolonged exchange of gunfire. A search operation has been launched by the security forces to apprehend the attackers.

Terror attempt foiled

Security officials thwarted a terror attempt in Gwadar district on Monday.

Acting on a tip-off about the presence of explosives, local authorities conducted a raid in the Pishikan area and recovered two hand grenades, an improvised explosive device (IED), and a remote control hidden in the bushes.

The officials said the suspects intended to carry out a terror attack in the area, but their plan was successfully foiled. No arrests have been made, and an investigation is ongoing.
