Israel’s far-right Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich says Hezbollah made a “serious mistake” firing into Israel and that Israel must respond with a “powerful blow”, Al Jazeera reports.

Smotrich is a member of Israel’s security cabinet and supported the US-brokered ceasefire agreement between Israel and the Lebanese group which took effect on November 27.
Hezbollah earlier said its fighters fired towards an Israeli military site due to repeated ceasefire violations by Israeli forces.
