GUJRAT: Four people, including three students of class IX, were killed and two were injured in separate smog-related road accidents in Gujranwala on Thursday.

Rescue officials said three 15-year-old students of a school in Rahwali were riding a motorbike when a speeding truck hit their two-wheeler due to poor visibility in front of Fazal Mall on the GT Road.

All three students, including two brothers Moiz and Umair and their friend Zohaib, died on spot.

The driver fled the scene and police confiscated his truck.

In another accident near Nokhar, Gujranwala, a man died and two were injured when a truck hit their car.

Rescue officials shifted the dead and the injured to Gujranwala Teaching Hospital.

KASUR: Two motorcyclists died when their two-wheeler had a head-on collision with a van near Khara Mor on Raiwind Road in the limits of the Saddar Police Station.

Muhammad Arshad, 23, along with his co-rider Ashfaq, 14, was on his way to Kasur from Raiwind. When they reached near Khara Mor, their bike rammed into a van coming from the opposite direction.

As a result, Arshad and Ashfaq died on the spot. The driver of the van escaped, leaving his vehicle behind. Police impounded the van and shifted the bodies to DHQ Hospital for autopsy.
