KARACHI: Rangers constable wounded

KARACHI, April 10: A constable of Pakistan Rangers was wounded resisting a cellphone snatching bid in New Karachi here on Monday. A duty officer of the New Karachi police station said Ali Imran, a constable of Shahbaz Rangers Ghotki, had come to his home in New Karachi’s Sector 4.

On Monday, he was taking on his cell phone outside his house when two persons on a motorcycle pulled up and demanded his cell phone at gunpoint.

As Ali Imran tried to resist, the suspects opened fire and escaped after snatching the cell phone.

Ali Imran opened fire from his pistol but the suspects managed to flee.

The victim was rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where he was provided treatment and later referred to a private hospital where he is undergoing treatment, the duty officer added.
