Taimur on goal spree

LAHORE, April 7: Six goals by Taimur Mawaz Khan helped United Solutions beat Candyland 8 1/2-8 in the Sardar Abdul Samad Polo Cup on Friday.

Three-goal Asif Tiwana eliminated half-goal handicap lead of the winners by scoring his first in the opening chukker.

Candyland came out with 5-2 1/2 lead in the second chukker. Four-goal Ahmed Ali Tiwana scored two for the losers while Asif and Azam Hayat Noon added one each. For the winners, Taimur pumped in two goals.

The winners reduced the lead to 6-4 1/2 in the third chukker as Taimur scored his third and Raja Samiullah chipped in with a goal. Ahmed scored his third for the losers.

United Solutions scored four goals in the fourth chukker against two by Candyland.

Taimur scored three while Raja Samiullah his second to complete the tally For the losers, Ahmed and Asif struck their last goals. — Sports Correspondent
