LAHORE: A young worker suffered multiple burns when some factory employees allegedly set him on fire over a petty dispute in Shadbagh area.

The incident took place on the premises of the factory where Fahad was busy at work when his colleagues exchanged hot words with him and then set him on fire after throwing petrol.

The young man was immediately rushed to a local hospital with multiple burns and the police took into custody the factory owner and two other employees including Nasrullah, Shahzad Anwar and Waheed.

According to the reports, another prime suspect had managed to escape from the scene and police teams were conducting raids for his arrest.

An official said the police acted when the Punjab chief minister took notice of the incident after it went viral on social media.

In another incident, a man stabbed his wife to death and injured four others including his son and daughter over a monetary dispute with his maternal uncle here on Wednesday.

The police inquiries suggested that suspect Shahid Ali scuffled with his maternal uncle Saleem.

During a brawl, the suspect attacked with a dagger and injured him seriously, a police official said adding that as Saleem’s wife Ifftat Batool came to rescue him, the suspect injured her too.

He said Shahid lost his temper and then attacked and injured his wife Shumaila, minor son Hafeez and daughter Musfeer.

Meanwhile, the local residents rushed to the spot on hearing cries of the injured persons, overpowered the suspect and called the police.

The dolphin police rushed to the site and took him into custody when he was trying to flee.

The police lodged a case against the arrested attacker and handed him over to the investigation police for further action.
