KARACHI, April 6: The Nazim Saddar Town, Mohammad Dilawar, has on the directive of Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad imposed a complete ban on wall-chalking, ordering imposition of fine on violators.

Accordingly, the town administration has provided a special squad to all union councils to remove wall-chalking as well as old and outdated banners and posters.

These squads will ensure that no one resorted to wall-chalking. Besides, these squads will also ensure that electric polls are painted.

Addressing a meeting, the town nazim said that besides making all-out efforts for providing quality basic facilities to the masses, provision of healthy, green, clean and pollution free atmosphere will also be ensured.

The meeting was also attended by town Naib Nazim Nasir Tamoori, TMO Mukhtar Hussain and heads of various departments.

The town nazim said that to achieve these objectives, it was the responsibility of the people to provide maximum cooperation to the town administration.

He also asked shopkeepers of the town to get the painted/coloured faded shutters of their shops and remove old and unnecessary hoardings from their business concerns.

The nazim also advised shopkeepers, showrooms and godown owners not to put showcases and other materials on footpaths, so that pedestrians may not face any difficulty.

He said the owners of hotels and shopkeepers will be bound to throw their garbage in specific places. Violators will face legal action, he said.—APP
