KARACHI: Sindh Chief Secretary Asif Hyder Shah expressed dissatisfaction regarding widespread encroachment and the deplorable condition of roads in district South and suspended two officials on Monday.

During his visit to the Saddar area, he noted issues such as unchecked encroachment, overflowing drains, poor maintenance and unsanitary conditions, including heaps of garbage, which indicate serious misconduct and inadequate performance by the responsible officials.

In light of these observations, he suspended Noor Hassan Jokhio, BS-19, Taluka Municipal Commissioner, Saddar, and Manzoor Hussain Shaikh, Deputy Director of the Sindh Solid Waste Management Board, with immediate effect.

The CS emphasised that encroachments would not be tolerated in the city. He directed authorities concerned to take urgent actions to enhance the sanitation system.
