MUZAFFARGARH: A 55-year old woman died at a Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) centre in Khangarh, some 29km from here, due to heat and suffocation on Wednesday.

There was a rush and disorder at the centre set up in a high school.

Khadija Mai, a mother of seven, died at the spot. She was from Basti Lang near Khangarh and had been visiting the centre for many days to get her money from retailers.

On the other side, the district administration claimed the deceased woman was not a beneficiary of the BISP and was a heart patient.
