DERA GHAZI KHAN: Two police officials were killed in a suicide attack at the Jhangi Police checkpoint near Wahova in Taunsa tehsil of Dera Ghazi Khan district.

As per reports, a vehicle loaded with explosives rammed into the main gate by terrorists leaving five policemen severely wounded and two of them later succumbed to their injuries. The two killed Punjab Police personnel were identified as Mudsar Mehmood Jaskani and Ghulam Abbas Sikhani. The blast also damaged the gate and the security wall of the checkpoint.

Police have launched a search and clearance operation in the region, while security forces in Taunsa tehsil have cordoned off the area and have been collecting evidence. Further investigations are underway.

Dera Ghazi Khan DPO Sadiq Baluch stated that terrorists had hit an explosive-laden vehicle with the gate of the Jhangi post and 40 percent of the building of the checkpost had been damaged. He stated that the wounded policemen had been rushed to the Taunsa Sharif THQ Hospital.

Baluch said a terrorist was also killed in the attack.
