SWAT: Swat Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education declared the higher secondary school examination results here on Wednesday with a girl student of a private college securing the overall first position.

Hafiza Ali, a student of Tipu Model School and College, Kabal, secured the first position, bagging 1,132 marks, while Junaid Khan of Government Degree College, Swat, secured the second position, obtaining 1,125 marks, and Sara Ali, a student of Public School and College, Mingora, came in third with 1,121 marks. They belonged to the pre-medical group.

In the pre-engineering group, Mohammad Basheer Khan, a student of Cadet College, Swat, bagged first position with 1,061 marks; Farooq Shah, a student of Government Higher Secondary School, Fatehpur, obtained second position with 1,058 marks, and Hanzala Javed, a student of Cadet College, Swat, secured the third position by getting 1,045 marks.

Farhad Khan of Government Degree College, Mingora, secured first position by getting 1,081 marks in the computer science group. Syed Rizwan Shah of Government Degree College, Mingora, got the second position with 994 marks, and Muniza of Government Postgraduate Girls College, Saidu Sharif, came in third with 990 marks.

In the arts group, Saifullah of Government Mudassar Khan Shaheed Higher Secondary School, Kabal, secured first position with 1,021 marks, Sajid Zareen of Government Degree College, Dagar, Buner, secured 1,006 marks and stood second, and Majla Nawaz of Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Bingalai, Buner, secured third position with 987 marks.

In Part-I, a total of 32,284 students appeared, out of whom, 20,484, or 63.45 per cent, succeeded.

In Part-II, a total of 33,977 students appeared, out of whom, 30,555, or 89.93pc, succeeded.

Board’s controller of examinations Mohammad Ishaq declared the FA/FSC results during a ceremony.

Board chairman Tasbihullah and secretary Umar Hussain were also present.

On the occasion, shields and cash prizes were distributed among the students, who secured the top positions.
