ISLAMABAD: A businessman was murdered in armed clash with the security guards of Elysium Tower on Saturday, police said.

A security guard was also killed while three others were injured in the clash, police said.

The businessman was identified as Shahzad Satti. The police were, however, not clear about the nature of his business but said that he was either associated with property or money exchange business.

The deceasedsecurity guard was identified as Kawaish Nawaz and the injured as Omer Ali, Ijaz Ahmed and Sohail.

The police said that Shahzad Satti along with his two guards came to the Elysium Tower around 4am. The security guards deployed at the tower intercepted them and asked for identification when they made an attempt to enter the tower without identifying themselves, they added.

As a result, harsh arguments were exchanged between the tower’s guard and them, they said, adding that

Satti and his companion left from the spot after hurling threats on the guards.

After half an hour Satti along with eight other persons armed with weapons, including Kalashnikovs and pistols returned to the tower in four vehicles, they said, adding that one of the vehicles – Parado – has green registration number plate.

They raided reception and started damaging it and beat security guard Kawish Nawaz, the police said, adding that the attackers dragged Kawish Nawaz outside the reception counter and showered him with bullets.

As a result, Kawish Nawaz, Omer Ali, Ijaz Ahmed, Sohail and the businessman Shahzad Satti sustained bullet injuries, the police said, adding that shortly the attacker escaped from the spot, leaving behind Shazad Satti injured on the spot.

Later all the five injured were shifted to hospital where Kawaish Nawaz and Shahzad Satti were pronounced dead, they said.
