Six get death, fine in lawyer’s murder case

SARGODHA: The Bhalwal additional district and sessions judge on Thursday handed down death sentence along with a collective fine of Rs6 million to six suspects in the murder case of a lawyer.

Reports said Noor Muhammad Jaspal, a famous lawyer of Bhalwal, was shot dead by seven suspects including Shoaib Mushtaq, Aftab Mubarak, Mubasher Sardar, Mushtaq Ahmad, Waqas Mubarak, Abu Bakar and Sardar Ahmed on Aug 29 last year when he was on his way from Salem to Bhalwal. The police arrested six of them and declared Abu Bakar absconder and submitted challan to the court.

Bhalwal AD&SJ Rai Liaqat Ali Kharal after recording evidence pronounced the judgment and handed down death sentence to them along with a fine of Rs1 million each. The court did not decide absconder Abu Bakar’s case.

Poacher held: An armed poacher engaged in illegal hunting in the forest of Naushehra area of Sargodha region was arrested and two endangered species of deer (Uriyal) were recovered from his van.

Police have registered a case.
