DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Family members of three security guards who were abducted almost 52 days ago during a cash van heist held a protest demonstration in front of the chief minister residence, here on Sunday.

The demonstration was held to demand practical steps by the KP government for safe release of security guards from the custody of miscreants.

The family members warned that if their loved ones were not recovered by the government as soon as possible, they would be compelled to commit self-immolation.

It merits a mention here that unknown armed miscreants had robbed a cash van of a private security company and abducted the van driver and three security guards in early July this year.

A police official said that a man named Fazlur Rahman was shot and killed by unknown assailants near Naivela drain.

On the information of the incident, police reached the spot and started investigating the incident.

DRUGS DEALERS HELD: District police arrested three accused and recovered over 3.2 kilograms of narcotics during an ongoing crackdown against drug dealers in the limits of city police station.

According to police spokesman, the operations were underway against anti-social elements across the district under the supervision of DPO.

He said a team of city police station arrested accused Bilal son of Abdul Aziz and recovered 2500 grams of hashish from him. In another action, Ghulam Rasool son of Muhammad Farooq was arrested

with recovery of 395 grams of ice drug and Mohammad Umar son of Ali with 350 grams of ice drug.

The police registered separate cases against the arrested accused and launched further investigation.
