KARACHI, March 30: Various parts of the city have been experiencing acute water shortage for the last one week, forcing the residents of the affected localities to purchase private tankers at exorbitant rates.

The hard-hit localities include Clifton’s Block 2, Gulshan-i-Iqbal’s blocks 13-D and 13-D/II, 4-A (Journalists Society), parts of Kharadar, Mehmoodbad and different parts of Orangi Town.

The worst sufferers are the residents of Gulshan-i-Iqbal’s blocks 13-D, 13-D/II and 4-A as, according to them, they are getting the supply for only 7 to 10 minutes only.

People residing in Gulshan-i-Iqbal’s Block 13-D multi-storied apartment buildings complained that although they have been facing serious water crisis for the last 10 to 12 days, the KWSB officials concerned have not yet taken measures to restore their normal supply.

Similarly, residents of Clifton’s Block 2 said water shortage issue had been lingering in their locality for the last couple of months.
