The Palestinian-American member of Congress made the remark amid reports that families of Israeli captives would be addressing the Democratic National Convention (DNC) in Chicago from its main stage.

“Why are you saying that Israeli children are more valuable than Palestinian children? Where is our shared humanity?” Tlaib, a Democrat, wrote in a post tagging the DNC.

“Stop erasing Palestinians. We exist. We deserve to be heard,” she added.

Tlaib was quoting a post from the Uncommitted National Movement, which said it had learned that the families of Israeli captives will be speaking at the DNC.

“We strongly support that decision and also strongly hope that we will also be hearing from Palestinians who’ve endured the largest civilian death toll since 1948,” the movement said.
