Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics has said that 24 per cent of casualties in the besieged coastal enclave were young people and about 70pc of the wounded people in Gaza were women and children while an estimated 10,000 people were missing and two million have been displaced, Al Jazeera reports.

It added that 620 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces in the occupied West Bank over the same period, 75pc of whom were below the age of 30.

The bureau’s figures also showed that 34 people in Gaza have died of malnutrition and about 3,500 children are at risk of death due to food shortages.
