RAWALPINDI: Another man sitting on the bank of Leh Nullah slipped into the water and drowned on Friday.

After over six hours of search efforts, the body was recovered from Gawalmandi area and shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital. Mohammad Bilal, 20, a resident of Ratta, was sitting on the bank of the nullah when he fell into it.

This marked the fourth drowning incident in the last three days. Two children and a young man had drowned in the nullah on Thursday.

Additionally, an unidentified body was found floating in the nullah on Friday.

In another incident, a drug addict was stabbed to death allegedly by another addict after a quarrel in Banni police area.

Meanwhile, Farzana Waheed, a resident of National Housing Scheme Adiala Road, lodged an FIR with the police stating that she was at home when someone rang the

doorbell. She found three women outside who claimed to fill in for the maid who was on leave.

After being allowed entry, the three women began cleaning the house during which they stole Rs500,000 from the locker, five tola gold jewellery worth Rs1.25 million, two gold rings, one gold necklace, a wristwatch and escaped in a rickshaw.

Atif Jameel, a resident of Sadiqabad, lodged a complaint saying that five robbers entered his house and looted gold jewellery worth Rs1.7 million, Rs200,000 cash and two mobile phones and escaped.
