TOBA TEK SINGH: A minor student died on Friday in Jhang after being ‘accidentally’ shot by a pistol at Jamia Farooq-i-Azam in Kot Khaira locality.

Reports said some children found a pistol outside the seminary and brought it into their study room.

Student Naseer Ahmad was handling the pistol when it accidentally discharged, and a bullet, possibly lodged in the barrel, struck 10-year-old Shahzad Jehangir. He died instantly from the injury.

The Jhang Saddar police arrested Naseer.

The police are investigating the incident and have shifted the body to the Jhang DHQ Hospital for an autopsy.

KIDNAP: Four people allegedly kidnapped a woman in Chak 338-JB, Gojra, on Friday.

According to the FIR filed by complainant Kausar Bibi under section 365 of the Pakistan Penal Code, her daughter Nimra Bibi, who had recently been divorced, was on her way to a grocery shop when Muhammad Usman, of the same village and his three accomplices forced her into their car and fled.

Police are conducting raids to arrest the abductors and recover the kidnapped woman.

In another incident in Gojra, two sisters were kidnapped in Usman Park locality on Friday.

Complainant Musa Raza said in his FIR registered by Gojra City police that his daughters -- Maiza (20) and Aliza (11) -- were on their way to the bazaar when Nabil and his accomplices kidnapped them.

Police are investigating both cases.

CASE: The Kotwali police in Jhang booked two persons on Friday for submitting a fake application at the office of the Jhang Saddar assistant commissioner, falsely bearing the recommendation of President Asif Ali Zardari.

According to the FIR by Wasim Sajjad, a naib qasid of the AC office, under sections 420, 468, and 471 of the Pakistan Penal Code, Shabbar Abbas of Haveli Sheikh Raju, Jhang, and his accomplice Ghulam Akbar of Thatha Jhabhana, Jhang, fraudulently prepared an application with forged signatures and a fake stamp of President Asif Ali Zardari, seeking the return of 30 kanals to Shabbar Abbas against merit.

During the inquiry, Shabbar confessed that Akbar had received Rs250,000 as a bribe for preparing the forged application. Police have arrested Shabbar and are conducting raids to apprehend Akbar.
