SUKKUR: A young man and a woman were found shot dead by unknown assailants in the riverine area of Shikarpur within the jurisdiction of the Kot Shahu police station on Thursday.

Officials at the Kot Shahu police station told the media that they had received information about the two murders and proceeded to the specified place. Finding the two bodies lying there, they transported them to the Shikarpur hospital where the man was identified as Shaaban Jatoi. The woman was yet to be identified, they said.

After a postmortem examination, the man’s body was handed over to the heirs.

The police believed that the double murder was a case of honour killing. However, they said, an investigation from different angles was started to establish the motive.
