DERA ISMAIL KHAN: The body of an unidentified man was recovered from Chashma Right Bank Canal (CRBC) at Juma Shareef Head in the limits of Gomal University police station here the other day.

According to Rescue 1122 spokesman Aizaz Mehmood, the emergency service received information a dead body of a man was seen floating in the canal water.

The divers of Rescue 1122 recovered the body from canal and shifted it to the hospital. The identity of the body could not be ascertained yet.

WOMAN DRUG TRAFFICKER HELD: The district police foiled a bid of narcotics smuggling and recovered hashish from a woman drug trafficker on Bypass Road in the limits of Saddar police station.

According to police spokesman, during checking, a team of Saddar police station arrested a burqa-clad woman and recovered 6.257kg hashish from her possession.

The accused was identified as Wakeelan Bibi, wife of Ghazi Marjan, a resident of Gomal area of Tank.

The police registered a case against the arrested accused and started further investigation.
