MARDAN: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sardar Ali Amin Gandapur said that it was his government’s top priority to maintain law and order in the province and no compromise would be made on security issues.

While inaugurating the phase one of new building of the police lines, here on Saturday, the chief minister said that they saluted the martyrs and ghazis of police force who had rendered matchless sacrifices in providing security to people of the province.

The chief minister was accompanied by Ali Mohammad Khan, Provincial Minister for Food Zahir Shah Toru, Members of Provincial Assembly Ameer Farzand, Iftikhar Ali Mashwani, Abdus Salam Afridi, Tufail Anjum, IGP Akhtar Hayat Khan and others.

Says heirs of martyred cops, govt officials to get free plots

Addressing the participants of the ceremony, Ali Amin Gandapur said, “We are proud of sacrifices, rendered by the police force, in safeguarding the lives and properties of people,’’ adding that the police force had bravely combated militancy.

He said that the present provincial government was taking measures on priority basis to upgrade and improve the performance and efficiency of police force at every level.

He claimed that the provincial government had been spending huge funds for provision of vehicles, arms and modern equipment to provincial police force. He said that legislation would be made regarding police Shuhada packages soon.

Mr Gandapur said that the incumbent provincial government had planned to give free of cost plots to heirs of martyred employees of police and other government departments. “We are committed to provide all possible assistance to families of martyred employees,” he maintained.

During his conversation with media persons on the occasion, the chief minister told that the present provincial government would provide solar panels to 0.1 million people of the province. Under the schemes, he claimed, the provincial government would provide solar system to 50 thousand people free of cost, while the other 50 thousand people would get it on interest-free loan schemes.

Earlier, IGP Akhtar Hayat Khan briefed the chief minister about the Mardan police lines project.
