KHAIRPUR, March 25: Recruitment would start soon to fill 500 seats of specialists lying vacant in Sindh, said Sindh Secretary Health Noshad Ahmed Shaikh during his visit to the Lady Wellington Hospital here on Saturday.

He directed the EDO health and other concerned officials to revamp wards in the TB Hospital to provide better atmosphere to indoor patients.

Patients complained to the secretary about lack of skin and orthopaedic specialists in the district. They said they had to travel to Sukkur or Karachi in an emergency. The secretary assured that the specialists would make visits to Khairpur from Sukkur once a week.

DOUBLE MURDER: Police managed to solve the mystery in double murder of two youths whose bodies were found in main drain in the city a few days back.

Police arrested three accused and recovered arms from them while one of them fled away.

Speaking at a press conference on Friday, Mirpurkhas DIG Saleemullah Khan said that two bodies were found stuffed in a plastic bag from the main drain Nullah near Khipro stand railway crossing at Khad Plot.

He said police were resolved the double murder case within a week.

He said that after identification of bodies as Narsingh Meghwar and Gordhan Meghwar, police arrested Abid Arain, a resident of Mirwah Gorchani town, Akbar and Ramzan while the main accused Mohammad Usman was still at large.

He said that between night of March 7 and 8, on an information of Narsingh Meghwar, a peasant of Ms Akbari Begum, Abid Arain, Gordhan and Mohammad Usman committed dacoity in her house in Thomasabad, looting 40 tolas of gold ornaments and cash of Rs650,000 (six lakhs and fifty thousands) and escaped.

In her report, the complainant expressed suspicions over Narsingh Meghwar in dacoity, he said. The DIG said that accused distributed Rs80,000 each and Mohammad Usman and Akbar planned to eliminate Narsingh Meghwar and Gordhan Meghwar.

They invited them to a dinner at Usman’s residence in Pak colony where they were given some intoxicant in food as a result they fell unconscious.

He disclosed that Mohammad Usman and his elder brother Ramzan shot them to death before slaughtering them.
