LAHORE: The Punjab government has amended the Punjab Civil Servants (Appointment and Conditions of Service) Rules 1974 and discontinued the recruitment of a son or a daughter of BS-1 to BS-5 employees, who die during their active service.

In order to discontinue the recruitment of such hapless candidates, the Punjab Governor gave his assent to amend the Punjab Civil Servants (Appointment and Conditions of Service) Rules 1974.

The governor’s assent to amend the rules has led to the removal of Rule 17-A from the civil servants’ rules. The Punjab government notified the governor’s order on Friday.

meeting: The Punjab government on Friday reviewed its strategy and actions in terms of anti-money laundering and counter financing for terrorism and asserted that the relevant institutions in the Centre and the provinces should improve coordination to achieve peace and strategic goals.

The meeting chaired by former IG Police Mushtaq Sukhera was briefed by home secretary Noorul Amin Mengal about the measures and implementation by the Punjab government. He also explained the actions taken by the Auqaf, cooperatives and the Board of Revenue.
