GUJRAT: A minor boy was killed while five other family members were injured when the roof of their house caved in due to rain in Sheikhpur village along Shahdaula Road on Friday.

Rescue 1122 officials said the roofs of two rooms of a seven-marla house caved in.

Ten-year-old Shahzaib died on the spot while his father Khalid, grandfather Khan Bagader, two sisters Kanza and Komal and five-year-old brother Faizan were injured.

The rescue teams shifted four of the injured to Aziz Bhatti Shaheed Teaching Hospital and Faizan with a minor injury was given first aid on the spot.

ACCIDENT: A motorcyclist was killed while his friend was injured in a road accident along the GT Road, Sara-i-Alamgir, on Friday morning.

Rescue officials said a speeding car hit a motorcycle, as a result of which Khizer Hayat died on the spot, while his friend was injured.

The car driver fled the scene after the incident.

FIA: The Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) immigration wing on Friday foiled an attempt by an outlaw wanted in a murder case to fly abroad.

A spokesman for FIA said Jamshed Mohsin of Khanwali village of Mungowal police precincts was going to Saudi Arabia when the immigration authorities found him suspicious and included his name in the no-fly list.

The suspect was later handed over to Gujrat police.
