An aide to Kamala Harris told Reuters that the vice president and likely Democratic Party presidential candidate will stress to Netanyahu that it is time for the Gaza offensive to end.

The aide said that Harris wants the offensive to end in a way where “Israel is secure, all hostages are released, the suffering of Palestinian civilians in Gaza ends, and the Palestinian people can enjoy their right to dignity, freedom, and self-determination”.

Reuters reports that US President Joe Biden is expected to meet with Netanyahu at the White House on Thursday, a day after the Israeli leader delivers a speech to a joint session of Congress.

Harris will meet Netanyahu separately from Biden this week.
