KARACHI: Two suspects, including a policeman, were arrested on Sunday for their alleged involvement in a robbery in Defence, police said.

DIG-South Syed Asad Raza told Dawn that suspect Subhan Kalwar was a police constable posted at the Al-Falah police station. He and his three accomplices allegedly looted Rs600,000 from a couple in DHA a couple of days ago, he added.

The held constable originally hailed from Ghotki and was recruited in the police department in 2014. One of his absconding accomplices was a traffic policeman.

Defence ASP Dr Faiza Sodhar told a press conference at her office that the second suspect was identified as Nazeer Ahmed.

She said that this gang was involved in several robberies and its members had targeted people who drew cash from banks.
