The Israeli military has issued new orders closing several areas in the “Gaza Envelope” where access is now prohibited without “prior coordination”, Al Jazeera reports.
In a post on social media detailing the areas to be closed, from midnight on Monday, the military also said that some areas previously closed in the envelope would be reopened.
The envelope refers to Israeli areas within several kilometres of the Gaza Strip separation barrier and which places them within range of attack from rockets and mortars fired from the Palestinian territory.
