MATLI LIBRARY

MATLI LIBRARY: The people of Matli have been intentionally kept away from enjoying the benefits of a public library. The local public library has been constructed, but has not been made functional. The previous public library, named the Dr Ismail Odhejo Library, was shut down several years ago due to its crumbling structure. After several protests by the people, the authorities agreed to establish a public library in Matli. It has been a year since the inauguration ceremony on the completion of library building was held, but nothing has been done to provide books and facilities to make the library functional.

WATER SHORTAGE: Water shortage is a serious problem in Rawalpindi. Even the housing societies located close to huge water supply lines, like the one coming from Khanpur dam to provide water to Rawalpindi Cantonment, have remained dry. If a connection is allowed from this mega water line to the water network of such colonies, it would cost little to the cantonment board, but would earn it the gratitude of the thirsty residents.

ROAD ACCIDENTS: Road accidents have become common in Balochistan. Most of these accidents are caused by reckless drivers, particularly those transporting petrol. Every day, at least three or four road accidents are reported in local newspapers. The authorities must take this rising number of road accidents seriously and chalk out a comprehensive plan to prevent them.

DANGEROUS WIRES: Electric wires are seen dangling on roads and streets across Hub, posing a significant risk to human life. Even the cables passing across buildings and roads are dangerous as they may break and fall anytime on vehicles and pedestrians using the roads. The authorities must fix these dangerous cables and wires.
