KARACHI: A stray bullet claimed the life of a young married woman in Baldia Town in the small hours of Saturday morning, police said.

The Ittehad Town police identified the victim as 34-year-old Afsana Isam Jan.

They said that she was sleeping in the courtyard of her house when a bullet fired from an unknown direction hit her.

The body was shifted to the Dr Ruth Civil Hospital Karachi for medico-legal formalities. The police said they were investigating the incident.
