KARACHI, March 20: A woman killed her two infant daughters in Landhi on Monday evening. SHO of Landhi police station told Dawn that Nadia, 30, wife of ASI Mohammad Aslam killed her two daughters by throttling them. ASI Aslam is away on police commando training course.

Nadia who killed Ramsha, two, and Alja, eight months, later informed the police about the incident. The woman has been arrested by the police.

Police sent the bodies to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for postmortem examination.

“Nadia is constantly, saying they were my daughters, so I killed them,” according to the SHO.

A senior police official of the Landhi town said it is early to ascertain the motive behind the killing as the woman seems in a shock. A thorough psychiatric assessment at a later stage might be fruitful.
